HealthNet will begin phasing out its emergency airplane service

HealthNet Inc., which responds to life-threatening medicalemergencies across West Virginia, is phasing out its fixed-wingaircraft.

The emergency airplane, used to fly patients to medical facilitiesoutside of West Virginia, will be discontinued within the next 90days to save money, Chip Sovick, president and chief executiveofficer of HealthNet Inc. said Tuesday.

Instead, HealthNet will use an air service based in Columbus,Ohio, when needed, Sovick said.
