Why is our council taking so long to fix a city pavement?

Three weeks ago my wife tripped on a metal cover protruding abovethe pavement outside Marks & Spencer's front entrance, fell andbroke her hip, which kept her in the RUH for 16 days.

I rang Council Connect at the first opportunity about this danger-point and was told that it would be seen to as a matter of priority.But after three days nothing had been done and I again rang, givingthe precise location and saying that it would only take a man fiveminutes with a couple of pounds of cement to make all smooth.
