Qld: Man struck in robbery

A bistro manager has been hit in the face with a rifle butt during a robbery in suburban
Brisbane.

Police say the manager of the bistro in Bennetts Road at suburban Norman Park was attacked
by a man as he was leaving the premises at about 1am (AEST).

The attacker produced a rifle and struck the manager in the face before grabbing a
bag of money and fleeing in a car that was later identified as stolen.

Yesterday a security officer was threatened with a knife after he forced a man to hand
over a mobile phone stolen from a store at Southport on the Gold Coast.

The man escaped.
